“LIFE” SHOW
At this stage, we are developing a plan with thoughts of the relationship between the public and the show, as well as between the show and urban context. Hence, we propose a «Life» show.
In a nutshell, at the beginning of the project, with a lot of questions about harmony, adaptability, metaphor and the fashion shows, we were constantly thinking of this idea and we dreamt of such ambiance - an ambiance which contains and is contained at the same time, an ambiance which can reflect life as well as itself.
The siteBased on the land’s nature as well as requirements for a fashion pavillion, our first vision is a synthesis of historical, modern and societal elements.
For this reason, the new structure has been installed over the lost portion of the Colosseum. Smartly, it will act as a continuation of history but on a higher basis. Thinking of the Colosseum with all of its historical values, we decide to develop a new kind of communication between the new fashion pavilion and the Colosseum. IDEA We start with the attempt to turn the new construction into a new part of the Colosseum. It not only reinforces the inherent meaning of the Colosseum but also creates a new life inside itself. |

With a water wall, the relationship between the public and the show is constantly swapped, the boundary between the show and real life gets fainter. At the square, looking at the water wall, people will see the reflection of real life. Also for the performers, the world on the other side is another show. At the square, thin layers of water at the same time defend, allocate traffic as well as send out a visual signal. Hence, people sometimes see themselves from another angle.
In effect, we attempt to draw a scenario where the whole area became a big show. It is an overlap of many factors, so that in the end it can reflect its own life.

PROPOSAL
How do the new design survive, share values with the old one but still have a new life inside?
Thinking of the Colosseum with all of its historical values, we decide to develop a new kind of communication between the new fashion pavilion and the Colosseum. We decide to use water instead of all kinds of solid wall due to some necessary requirements in improving this construction area. The frame is made of steel which can be easily moved or disassembled. The porches created by water will gently recreate the Colosseum’s old structure, thus make it become surrealistic. How the architecture design relate to the physical location chosen The system of thin layers of water on the square continuously creates the visual elements of the Coloseum, thus leads the public closer to the show and the historical places in the location. It becomes the mount between public and private properties, between the real world and the fashion world. How the design is placed on the physical site The whole figure consists of light texture including steel and water. In this manner, all physical barriers get blurred. Water is supplied by 2 large pools in the middle. Thus, we do not change the previous structure but still create a new section-what is seen as part of the old one. Innovative design : The new design has technical core and runway in the middle, with spaces for traffic and recreation placed parallel to ensure the relationship between the show and life at the square. Comunication, lighting & sound, dressing areas are located in the core to be better protected. The main element of the design is water, a mild and harmless factor for the foundation of the Coloseum. |

Peep show
The Peep show on water walls, using projector with blurred motion pictures and sometimes photographs, increases the modernity of the show. Square design The system of thin layers of water can change periodically to meet the need of social activities taking place at the square. Thereby, we attempt to maintain social factors in the location in both day and night. |
