WALKING COOK
With the load-bearing spherical dome structure, we try to create the visual signal similar to the sphere of Paris Saint German market.
The space for customers is outside which helps to view the old street and to be convenient for the waiters. Diners can walk along the helical way to feel the “Walking cook”. At the end of the path “walking cook”, there is a cuisine space on the rooftop which helps to view the panorama of the neighboring streets.

Site areaThe project has a very special background of location and culture. An area with a profound historical value is expressed not only in the long-standing architecture but also in the custom.
We study the relation between the area and neighboring buildings. We have commercial streets, housing and especially Paris Saint German market. The area besides the old market brings the first imagination of the connection. It is the connection between spaces and from time to time. Therefore, the target of this project is a building which can both harmonize with the historical value of the area and has its own characteristic. |

PROPOSAL1. HISTORIC SITE
2. “STREET REFLECTION” The core on the first floor has a shape of sphere with the reflection material on the surface which creates the unlimited reflection effect to the surrounding old street. This is the “Street reflection” 3.“CONECTION” Plaza of the building creates a multifunctional space: to be a small market in the morning and become Salon A for the restaurant in the evening. We keep 4 facades of the old building and with some reparation, we believe that it can work well. 4.“WALKING COOK” The 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th have helical shape which create “the walking cook” 5.“SUSTAINABLE” The façade has panels as the sun protection which create the pixel effect on the façade

"STREET" FACADEThe second layer facade will made by dot-polycacbonate panel. They work as sun protection for the facade as well as the iconic element. Density of the dot in the panel varies place to place to follow the shadow from surrounding area.

SIX ELEMENTSWe create a graph with 6 criteria: Historic, Modern, School, Restaurant, Public, Private. Then we can see that: The building is a school (laboratory) in the moring and the five star restaurant in the evening.
